3. Regular Water Changes

Unlike a fully commercial spa pool with endless piping, a domestic-type hot tub in a holiday let setting typically needs to be drained, cleaned, and refilled every week - or after each group of guests, whichever is sooner. This prevents nasty microorganisms from building up over multiple bookings.

4. Effective Disinfection (Chlorine or Bromine)

You’ll commonly use chlorine or bromine tablets or granules to keep the hot tub water safe. Maintaining the correct chemical balance (3–5 ppm free chlorine or 4–6 ppm total bromine, with a pH range around 7.2–7.8) is crucial to control bacterial growth.

Automated dosing isn’t a legal must, but many holiday park owners love the simplicity of a floating dispenser or inline feeder.

7. User Guidance

Make sure to display (or supply) basic instructions for your guests:

Shower before entering

Limit soak times and keep the tub below maximum capacity

Don’t bring glassware into the tub

Avoid use if unwell or with open wounds
